Here are tips for safely prolonging the life of your Bernardaud candle:
The first time you burn your candle, allow it to burn for at least one hour until the whole top is liquid with wax, then 2 or 3 hours on future uses.
Trim the wick regularly - by shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the porcelain. After blowing out your candle, re-center and straighten the wick.
Choose an area free from drafts and do not move your candle while it is lit to avoid uneven burning.
Never leave a lit candle unattended to avoid any fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes and out of children's reach.
