More than a century ago in 1880 when Lebanon was under the Ottoman Empire, Mr. Lutfallah Manasseh, trader in Beirut, came back from a long trip in Europe with the representations of luxury and prestigious names in the art of the table, the purity of the engraved silver and the scintillating (sparkling) crystal namely Christofle and Baccarat which where added to the existing brands at the Gant Rouge of that time.

The ‘’Ets. Edouard L. Manasseh & Cie.’’ was founded in 1935 and were strengthened by exclusive representations of the silver Orfevrerie Christofle, the crystals Baccarat and Lalique, the china manufacturer Bernardaud (Limoges), the confectioner Foucher and the jeweler Boucheron.
